Your goals should be bigger, freelancer.
Hey!
When I started as a freelancer after being laid off, I set a goal. I thought it was huge at the time.
I decided I wanted to make twice my employed income while working half the time. That was my big goal. And you know what?
It was too small.
Once I got the freelancing basics down, I started working with a coach. I still remember the day he casually told me that, even working part time, I would max out at a certain income point. That point? Was twice my “big goal”.
I’m telling you this to remind you that even your biggest freelance goals are probably too small.
Employment has tricked us into undervaluing our work and fearing going out on our own—when the truth is…there’s opportunity everywhere. Now it’s easier than ever to be an indie professional.
If you want to get around people who are already stepping out to find out their potential, come on over and introduce yourself on the community boards.
